Located in North Northumberland, Shawm House wraps around the northern edge of a walled garden to an existing farmhouse. The site is favourably situated on the ridge of a hill, with stunning views across the Northumberland countryside.
Meticulously constructed by the client for his aging parents, the house is finely detailed and has superb air-tightness credentials. Carefully framed windows within the open-plan living accommodation on the first floor of the house take full advantage of the beautiful scenery.
Completed in late 2016, I was commissioned to photograph the project at the height of the summer months, when daylight illuminates the main, north facade during the early morning and late evening hours.
